Transaction policy
A clear view of what happens before, during, and after refining.
This page summarizes the current Refine This! operating workflow so customers can make informed decisions without hidden process claims.
1. Creating a ticket
A ticket organizes your materials, sender information, packaging profile, preferred payout method, and progress updates. Creating a ticket does not transfer ownership, commit you to a sale, or guarantee that Refine This! will purchase any material.
2. Prepaid labels and packaging
A prepaid label is requested separately after ticket creation and is available only after sender-address verification and package review. Standard padded-envelope and jar-in-box profiles use defined parcel assumptions; unusual, heavy, or uncertain parcels require staff review before postage. Follow the ticket-specific packing guide, seal materials securely, and do not send hazardous, prohibited, stolen, or unlawfully possessed items.
3. Receipt, evaluation, and value
Refine This! records receipt and evaluates the submitted material using the process appropriate for that material. Any preliminary discussion or estimate is not a final offer. Precious-metal markets and recoverable content can change. The final value and any material deductions are communicated for your review before staff records an agreed payout.
4. Your decision and payout
Your ticket stores a payout preference for staff coordination; it does not send money and does not guarantee that a particular network will be used. Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, mailed check, or another staff-confirmed arrangement may be used only after the final amount and method are agreed. Staff records the method, masked reference, issue date, and a customer-visible note before the ticket becomes Paid.
5. Ownership, authority, and safe handling
By sending material, you confirm that you own it or are authorized to act for its owner and that sending it does not violate law, contract, patient obligations, or professional duties. Do not include patient records, passwords, financial-account credentials, regulated hazardous materials, or unrelated personal information. Refine This! may pause handling and contact you when ownership, safety, identity, or package condition needs clarification.
6. Unused labels, returns, and exceptions
Use only the active label shown on your ticket. If a label is unused, damaged, duplicated, or no longer needed, contact customer support before requesting another. Refine This! may submit a carrier refund request for an eligible unscanned label, but carrier approval is not immediate or guaranteed and can take several weeks.
If you decline a final value or a package cannot be processed as expected, staff will confirm the available return, continued-evaluation, or other disposition choices in writing before action. Do not assume return postage, insurance, or a particular remedy unless it is specifically confirmed for your ticket.
7. Communications, privacy, and records
Refine This! uses the contact details on your ticket for operational messages about labels, receipt, evaluation, decisions, and payout. Guest tracking uses a private link and a restricted browser session; keep that link confidential. Payment identifiers are encrypted at rest, masked by default, and any staff reveal requires a protected, audited action.
Operational ticket messages are separate from future promotional outreach. Refine This! will not treat a transaction email as permission for unrelated bulk marketing.
8. Accepted settlement, ownership transfer, and no routine refund
Creating a ticket, requesting packaging, receiving a label, or mailing material does not by itself finalize a sale. Staff communicates a final value for review, and the customer may accept or decline that value through the ticket or another written channel confirmed by Refine This!.
Attorney-review-required working rule: after the customer accepts the final value and Refine This! records the payout as paid, the settlement is intended to be final, ownership of the accepted material transfers to Refine This!, and no routine refund, payment reversal, or return of processed or commingled material is available. Materials may be processed, combined, sold, or otherwise handled after acceptance in a way that makes physical return impractical or impossible.
This draft does not excuse an incorrect payout, duplicate payment, failed payment, unauthorized transaction, fraud, material system error, or a written exception approved by Refine This!. It also does not limit a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow the parties to waive.
9. Questions, disputes, and correction requests
Raise questions about identity, package condition, weight, evaluation, deductions, final value, payout method, or return arrangements before accepting the final value whenever possible. Include the ticket number and the specific item in dispute, but do not send passwords, PINs, bank-account numbers, or card details.
After a settlement is accepted or paid, contact Refine This! promptly if the recorded amount, method, recipient, or status appears incorrect. The company will preserve relevant ticket, status, offer, payout, label, and security records while the issue is reviewed. This operational process is not a waiver of any legally required complaint, chargeback, notice, arbitration, court, or regulatory process that a qualified attorney determines applies.
